Forest boss Steve Cotterill managed to secure the loan signings of two defenders before the closure of the January transfer window on Tuesday.

Stoke City centre half Danny Higginbotham, agreed to join the Reds’ until the end of the current campaign and according to the official site will be available for the local derby at Pride Park on Sunday. He’s 33 years of age, so his experience will be a valuable asset in the relegation battle we now find ourselves firmly entrenched in.

Scott Wootton from Manchester United also signed on loan until the end of the season. He is 20 years old and is described as a centre half who can also play in midfield. Both players will be warmly welcomed to the City Ground.
