‘Too easy’, ‘do we really need to’: These Forest fans quietly confident following cup draw

|

I’d say that was a pretty good result, all things considered.

Having successfully negotiated their way past Derby County in the last round, boy I’m never going to get tired of typing that sentence, all eyes were on the draw for the third round of this season’s Carabao Cup.

The third round is where the rest of the Premier League comes into play, specifically those who are involved in European competitions.

Whilst Forest aren’t exactly expected to do well in this competition (in fact no team from outside the top flight has won the competition since Sheffield Wednesday back in 1991), the best that they could hope for was a game against one of the big sides.

Forest were drawn – away to Arsenal.

Now I don’t know about you, but the first thing that came to mind when the balls came out of the bowl was that night at the City Ground in the FA Cup back in 2017/18 when Forest stunned the Gunners with a 4-2 victory.

So how did Reds fans react to the cup draw? Perhaps their first thought’s were on that FA Cup win as well, because a lot of them seemed confident that they’d be able to do it again, this time though they’ll have to do it at The Emirates.
