After many fans have been screaming for it for weeks, the termination of Colin Calderwood’s contract was today announced on the official site. This will come as a surprise to those who didn’t think Chairman Nigel Doughty had the balls to do it, but will come as a relief to just as many.

After today’s performance against Doncaster Rovers, it was hard to justify not doing what had to be done as far as progression of the club is concerned.

I for one am not entirely convinced this was the right decision to make, but only time will tell. Trickies will now turn to speculation about Calderwood’s replacements, with the names of Billy Davies, Alan Curbishley and Roy Keane flitting around the situation.
