Some Nottingham Forest supporters want to sell Jordan Smith following Arijanet Muric’s arrival from Manchester City. Sabri Lamouchi currently has Costel Pantilimon, Luke Steele, Smith and Muric at his disposal for next season and may need to offload at least one of the four players due to the squad being bloated.

Smith rose through the youth ranks to the Nottingham Forest first-team in 2015 and has gone on to make 48 appearances in all competitions, conceding 71 goals and keeping only 11 clean sheets. The 24-year-old has made just one appearance for Forest since January 2018 and has spent the last 18 months on the periphery at the City Ground.

He joined Barnsley (November 16, 2018 – November 23, 2018) and Mansfield Town (January 10, 2019 – May 31, 2019) on loan last season after falling down the pecking order and may have to leave Forest for more playing time in 2019/20. Smith is out of contract in 2020 and looks unlikely to be handed a new deal given he’s been frozen out of the senior squad.

Fans would back Smith’s sale and believe he’s surplus to requirements in the East Midlands, but time will tell if the Reds offload him this summer.
