Colin Calderwood has told the official site ‘I want the players to lift the supporters out of their seats, with their effort, attitude and willingness to work, run and tackle and show a willingness to pass the ball. Pass it early, create angles, create crosses and have shots. I want them to be eager to get a result.’

Once again Calderwood is spot on, as these were all qualities that were lacking on Tuesday against Oldham. The Reds’ lost there unbeaten home record in a below par display going down 2-0. The manager wants the side to get back to winning ways at the first time of asking to the 5th placed side.

Calderwood said ‘We’re a good side, the players are better than what they showed on Tuesday night and i think they believe that.’

The Forest boss knows that a win against Carlisle will keep his charges on top of League 1 regardless of how other sides do and also knows that the rest of the division will be looking to see how they react to the mid week defeat.

‘We’ve got to make sure they are confident and don’t go into their shells. They have to be brave enough to go and take the ball and play their football and show their ability.’

Just about everything that the manager has said here has been voiced in the forums of Vital Forest this week. Do you think he is watching?
