Right, enough talk about the League Cup, time to focus on the league once again.
It’s a battle of West Midlands v East Midlands this Saturday as Nottingham Forest take on Birmingham City. Now that I’ve given it my best David Mitchell impression, let’s move on.
Sabri Lamouchi’s men have had a bit of a shaky start to the season. Having squandered a 1-0 lead in the opening game against West Bromwich Albion, in large part to some questionable goalkeeping by new signing Aro Muric, they bounced back with a credible draw away at Leeds United, although the goal did come in slightly fortuitous circumstances.
Meanwhile, Forest’s opponents Birmingham City come into the game undefeated, having beaten Brentford at Griffin Park and drawn with Bristol City at Trillion Trophy Stadium St Andrew’s (a name that I will never, not find hilarious).
How do the Forest fans see this match going? A lot of them seem to think that the win against Fleetwood could lead to some form of momentum and give them their first league victory of the season. And having got off the mark at Elland Road, it looks as if Grabban is hot favourite amongst the supporters to double his tally.
