Congratulations to Docklands Red, who is the lucky winner of a new book about Brian Clough, recounting memories of the Great Man by some of the people fortunate enough to have both known him and also from those who only made his acquaintance. Brian Cloughʼs family are among the many people who describe their personal memories of the charismatic football manager in this unique collection of tributes.

The book is compiled by journalist and author Marcus Alton, who is also the editor of the tribute website, brianclough.com.

This collection of anecdotes and tributes includes contributions from fans, friends and former players, collected by Marcus since he set-up the non-profit-making website over 10 years ago. Those who worked closely with Old Big ʼEad describe memorable times in his company – including the TV producer who captured unique footage of Cloughie in his back garden as he sang a surprise tribute to his old friend and commentator, Brian Moore.

Fans may think they have heard all there is to know about Cloughie. But this book has many untold stories and tributes, demonstrating how he touched so many lives and won admirers around the world.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Senior news journalist for the BBC Marcus Alton met Brian Clough a number of times, both as a fan and a journalist. His own memories are featured in the book. It was back in August 2000 that Marcus set-up the non-profit-making website, brianclough.com. Brian later thanked Marcus personally for forwarding all the get-well e-mails to him following a liver transplant. This new book follows the success of his first book about Brian Clough, Young Man, You`ve Made My Day, published in 2008. The book is on sale from October 2011. £9.99 · PB · ISBN-13 978 1 90823 498 8.
