Still trying to work out the finer points.

That seemed to be the message that midfielder Samba Sow wanted to get across after Forest threw away a late win against Derby County on Saturday.

Speaking to the club website after the game, the Malian midfielder talked about the team’s performance against the Rams, and how the team need to learn from this performance as we move forward into the final games of the season:

“To take this goal at the end of the game is so difficult. But that is the story of the season, it has happened so many times. We have to learn from it and to keep working. We played very well today and deserved the three points, but we only go back with one point. We have to keep going and keep working because we have five more games, we are still there and we have to continue in the same way.”

Should we be reading anything into this result?

Yes

Yes

No

No

All I’ll say is that it’s very late in the season to still be learning things, but if they are, then they need to start implementing it straight away because we have got a big game coming up against Fulham.

Given how things are shaping up in the race for promotion, tomorrow’s game is going to be very important in how things end up, but should it really be taking them this long to have got the finer details in place?

Forest have put in far too many bad performances this year for us to be in a position to brush things off, like the defeats to Birmingham and Charlton back in February, or the bad string of games pre-Christmas. If these carry on for a few more weeks, then we might be in bad form going into the playoffs and end up throwing away our best chance at promotion since 2011.

What about you? What do you make of Sow’s comments?
