Premier League referee Mr. Phil Dowd from sunny Staffordshire gets the gig for the 1st leg semi final playoff match at Bloomfield Road today, between Blackpool and Nottingham Forest (KO 12.45pm).

This will be the first time since the 2008/9 season that he’s officiated in a game involving the Reds’. Last time out, it was the final game of his Forest managerial career for Colin Calderwood, when he took charge of the 4-2 home defeat to Donny, that resulted in Calderwood’s sacking.

So far this campaign, Mr. Dowd has taken charge of 37 games, in which he’s dished out a whopping 124 red cards and 5 red.

He’ll be ably assisted on the lines by Mr. S. Burt and Mr. S. Ledger. The 4th official is Mr. C. Foy.
