Mr. Mark Haywood from sunny West Yorkshire, gets the gig for the final game of the season at the City Ground today, between Nottingham Forest and Portsmouth.
The last time Mr. Haywood had the pleasure of refereeing a game involving the Reds’, was in the 3-1 home defeat to Birmingham City back in October. That game will go down in the history books for reasons other than Mr. Haywood’s performance, due to the fact it was the day Steve McClaren resigned and also the day when Nigel Doughty stood down as club chairman, following protests from fans.
So far this season, Mr. Haywood has taken charge of 40 games, in which he’s dished out 96 yellow cards and 0 red.
He will be ably assisted on the lines by Mr. Paul Hobday and Mr. Duncan Street. The fourth official will be Mr. Danny Gratton.
