First up it’s congratulations to Swansea, who clinched the League 1 title despite losing at home to Yeovil 2-1. Thanks to a Carlisle defeat at the hands of Southend, the Swans finish as League 1 Champions.

The fact that Carlisle lost 2-1 at home to the Shrimpers not only means the Swans were celebrating in the Valleys, it also gave us an unexpected shot at automatic promotion with 2 games left to play. As much as we try to screw it up, our rivals seemingly want to go one better. Not only did the Cumbrians lose, but Donny were held to a 1-1 draw away at Orient.

The lacklustre 1-0 win over already relegated Luton, now sees us just 3 points off 2nd place and 1 point off 3rd. It’s looking possible, but do we dare to even think about it after being let down so many times in the very recent past?

Lucky Leeds battled for a 2-0 win away at relegation threatened Millwall, to virtually claim their playoff place. The fact that Brighton beat Hartlepool 2-1 at home, means the final playoff place will need another week to be decided.

Nothing was sorted down at the basement, as Bournemouth made it 5 wins out of 5 to hang on to safety for at least another week. They won 3-1 away at Walsall to end their promotion dreams and give themselves a fighting chance. Gillingham were beating Bristol Rovers 1-0 with only 6 mins to go, but a last gasp equaliser meant they shared the points.

There’s only 2 games to go and it could all be sorted next week. But the way things are shaping, it will all go down to the wire and make for a bum twitching last day.
