Kris Commons revealed last year that he would love to play at international level and said he was eligible to play for Scotland. But in his latest diary column for icons.com he hasn’t entirely closed the door on playing for England.

He said. ‘I’d love to play at international level, but the Championship is the minimum level any international manager is going to look at, so right now it seems a long way off. It would be an honour to play for either country, because I have family from England and Scotland and I feel a connection to both countries.’

He goes on to talk about the difference in quality between the Championship and League 1, as well as who he thinks is the best left back to play for England. You may be a little surprised at his answer. To find out who it is go to icons.com
