Forest welcome Coventry City to the City Ground on Saturday for their penultimate home game of the season. It promises to be yet another bum twitching and nervous affair, with the 3 points on offer being the ultimate prize.

City, although not mathematically safe themselves, sit in the relative luxury of 14th place in the table on 53 points. Their form of late, has seen them stuttering. They could only manage a 0-0 draw at home to Charlton on Monday and got thumped 4-0 away at Plymouth on Saturday. With a host of injuries to contend with as well, this might be a good time for us to be playing them. That said, this is where we have been more than capable of nousing it up in the past.

Forest willl hopefully go into this one high in confidence, having had a great Bank Holiday weekend, following the dramatic win over Brizzle and a more than deserved hard fought point at the Blunts. Despite those good results, we still managed to drop back into the bottom three and into the drop zone. With only three games left to play, we really must win this.

Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman has some major injury concerns ahead of the game, with former Reds’ wannabe Leon Best definitely out for the season with a groin strain. Guillaume Beuzelin is a doubt, after picking up a knock at Charlton, as is Simpson, Bell, Wright and McKenzie.

Billy Davies will definitely be without the services of Kelvin Wilson, following his dismissal on Monday and Iain Taylor is out with a broken toe. Leading scorer Robbie Earnshaw will probably miss out, but he will hopefully be available for the last two games.

The form guide suggests a Forest win. In 79 league meetings, Forest have won 38, lost 14 and drawn 27. Earlier this season we drew 2-2 at the Ricoh, with the Reds’goals coming from Earnie and Garner. Despite the form book favouring us heavilly, this will be another tough one for Davies and the lads. Although nothing will be settled for us this weekend, we simply must get the win. 1-0 to the Reds’ it is then.

  • Your form has picked up again recently, I think it will go down to the last games of the season.
