Forest welcome Huddersfield Town to the City Ground on Saturday, looking to carry on where they left off at Chesterfield. Although the performance wasn’t much to shout about, the result put an end to the miserable no wins in two months away record, after the 2-1 win.

Huddersfield have been inconsistent so far this campaign. Currently languishing mid table in 13th position, they are finding life difficult and, as with Forest are finding it hard to put together a winning run of results. This is something of a surprise because amongst the Terriers ranks they have some good quality and experience. Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Luke Beckett and Andy Booth are only part of a decent squad manager Peter Jackson has assembled at the Galpharm.

If Forest’s form has been erratic of late, they will indeed be boosted by last weeks result, not to mention that the mid week games ended with no real harm done to the Reds League position. Despite all the concern about our promotion credentials, Forest sit very nicely in third, one point off second, with a game in hand. Not too shabby really, so why all the fuss? Well get down to the City Ground and you’ll see exactly what the fuss is about. Anyway, mustn’t grrr’umble, as they say, it could be a lot worse.

Vital Quotes:

Manager Colin Calderwood was again expressing the positives after the win at Chesterfield and looking ahead, he said. ‘We have picked up some good experience throughout the course of the season and it looks like we are now improving because of the results we have had. We had definitely been needing a victory to avoid too much pressure being put on the boys and to keep them relaxed. We have now sent a psychological message to those other teams who are lining up around us.’

He added: ‘Now we need to continue what we are doing in training and what we are doing in matches.’

I wish I saw what they did in training, it must be magic.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

The Reds will once again be without Nathan Tyson, who serves the last of a three match ban. Also missing from action, will be Jack Lester, who starts a two match ban, after picking up his 10th yellow at Chesterfield. This will probably mean a return for top scorer Grant Holt, who is available again after his suspension.

Player to watch: Sammy Clingan

This week by way of a change let’s go for Sammy Clingan. The much heralded Northern Ireland international has had something of a stop, start season. If we are to have any success this season, his form will be key.

Huddersfield Town Team News:

The Terriers will be without the suspended top scorer Gary Taylor-Fletcher. But they will have the tricky Paul Hayes, on loan from Barnsley to terrorise us. Last week keeper Matt Glennon saved three penalties in their 2-1 defeat, at home to Crewe.

Player to watch: Luke Beckett

The former Sheffield United frontman has netted 10 times so far this season. In the absence of Taylor-Fletcher, he is likely to be partnered by veteran Andy Booth. At the ripe old age of 33 and with plenty of experience, they could pose a danger up front.

Match Facts & Stats

The two sides have met on 35 occasions in the League. Forest have won 9, lost 16 and drawn 10.
