The managing director of new club sponsors John Pye and Sons, as well as Nottingham Forest Chief Executive Officer Mark Arthur, have both today confirmed that a takeover of the club is close to completion.
Speaking to the BBC about the new one year sponsorship deal with the Reds’ and the the takeover, Adam Pye said. ”It is imminent we are told and so exciting. Hopefully we will be talking to you in 10 days time with more exciting news.’
Mark Arthur added that there was more than one party interested in buying the club and that everything was being done to help bring new owners in. ‘There is good interest in the club, not from just one party. We do not know who they are and where they come from. If the owners are to have an impact on next season they need to be in Nottingham the sooner the better.’
According to various sources on twitter, the new owners are from Kuwait, but there has also been keen interest from the United States. It’s paramount that a deal is completed soon, because as things stand at the moment, Nottingham Forest only has guaranteed funding until the start of the new season.
