It’s fair to say that we’ve enjoyed a tremendous transfer window, ten new players have arrived that have significantly enhanced the calibre and the quality of our squad. And, despite the new arrivals, we’re continually linked with moves for new players, such as Liverpool’s Pedro Chirivella.
As Nottinghamshire Live reports, we’re reportedly interested in the services of the Liverpool midfielder, Pedro Chirivella. The Spaniard is valued at around £5M by the Champions League finalists, and we’re not the only Championship side who are allegedly keen on his signature, as Swansea City are also interested.
Here’s how Forest supporters have responded to the rumours on Twitter.
He was one of the best last season. Good controlling midfielder with a great pass.

faintly surprising target for us if true, from what i know if him, hes a deep lying playmaker (if you'll excuse the FM terminology!) and we have a lot of DMs and dont really use them as playmakers, if hes become a more advanced one, we just spent 13 million on one of those!

Can only imagine it would be to cover all eventualities. We probably lacking this option in the squad. This then would make more sense for Yates to go on loan. Bridcutt definitely out the door. Yates clearly the eventual Watson replacement.

I say give Yates a chance

Just signed Colback and he'll play with Watson. Where does he fit in and at £5m he wouldn't be coming to sit on the bench? Plus there's Yates who is about to go on loan at a similar age.

Given the fact that we’ve completed ten signings, the latest of which was Jack Colback, it seems rather redundant that we’re interested in signing yet another midfielder – a position in which we have adequate cover. This isn’t an insinuation that Chirivella is a bad player, it’s merely a remark that says we should concentrate our focus elsewhere – such as trying to complete the Byram deal.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree? Let us know!
