Late yesterday evening Nottingham Forest confirmed that striker Jason Cummings had headed out to Ibrox and Rangers on a loan spell until the end of the current season.

With a good goalscoring record at Hibernian, former manager Mark Warburton was well aware of him from his time in Scotland and he brought the 22 year old to the City Ground last summer.

He did only make 18 appearances for Warburton, with a return of four goals, and having seemingly fallen out of favour in what became Warburton’s final weeks, it was already known that Cummings wished to get the thoughts of new manager Aitor Karanka before deciding his future.

It appears those talks at least gave him a conclusion he could work from, and with Rangers linked with him in speculation he headed to them for the remainder of the season, with the Scottish side holding a buy option on him come next summer.
