Following midweek EFL Cup disappointment for Nottingham Forest, it was back to Championship action earlier this afternoon as we hosted high flying Sheffield United at the City Ground.
Whilst there’s a sense of doom and gloom from some sections of the fanbase given performances under manager Aitor Karanka, the fact remains it’s been a more than solid start to the league campaign and we sit in seventh place in the second tier table and victory today could see us move into the Play-Off spots.
It was a more expected lineup from Karanka after the last showing and Claudio Yacob got the nod to replace Jack Colback but more surprising was the inclusion of new signing Karim Ansarifard who completed his deal with the club a few hours prior to kickoff.
Forest did edge the scrappy affair against the former table toppers and ended up taking all three points when Lewis Grabban found the back of the net in the second half of the game as he connected with a Joao Carvalho shot.
Onto the next one now.
