Nottingham Forest have today confirmed the appointment of Luke Dowling as our new Sporting Director at the club.

Dowling joins with good experience having previously been Sporting Director at Watford where he helped oversee their rise from the Championship into the Premier League and their development as a top flight club over the previous few seasons.

In his role he was a key part of the captures of the likes of Odion Ighalo, Etienne Capoue and Abdoulaye Doucoure to name just three.

During his playing career he came through the youth ranks of Tottenham Hotspur and spent time with Reading but injury forced him to hang up his boots early and he then made the switch to life in coaching and then scouting, taking on a role at Wimbledon where he helped them to promotion into the Football League.

Following his time at Wimbledon, he has had spells with Crystal Palace, Portsmouth and Leeds United prior to arriving at Vicarage Road.

He is also one of the youngest Sporting Directors in the Premier League but his age doesn’t reflect his experience.
