Nottingham Forest suffered a 2-0 defeat at Reading on Saturday and Tendayi Darikwa was one of many players heavily criticised by supporters for his performance. The 27-year-old was one of two Forest players sent off at the Madejski Stadium and wasn’t too effective when he was on the pitch.

Against Reading, Darikwa made just one tackle, failed to make an interception and gave away two fouls. The right-back fared a bit better offensively, creating two chances and making one dribble, but he failed to find a teammate with any of his crosses and gave his side a mountain to climb after being red cards.

The Zimbabwe international was sent off for a dangerous tackle in the 83rd minute, leading Forest to finish the game against Reading with only nine men. It was their first outing since Aitor Karanka stepped down as manager and has led to the Reds taking a big hit in their hopes of promotion.

After 27 games this season, the Midlands outfit are ninth in the Championship with 39 points. Forest have now failed to win six of their last seven league games and Darikwa will be suspended for their next outing against Bristol City (January 19).
