Nottingham Forest could be willing to sell full-back Matty Cash for £12million amid interest from Southampton, a report from The Sun has claimed.
Cash enjoyed another outstanding campaign for Forest in the season just gone, but the failure of Sabri Lamouchi’s side to secure promotion to the Premier League following their dramatic final day slide out of the play-off places appears to have left the 23-year-old’s future up in the air.
According to the latest reports, Forest will listen to offers of £12million for the right-back, who is said to be attracting a significant amount of attention from Southampton, as they look to add to the attacking threat they pose down the right-hand side of their squad.
Southampton’s Premier League rivals West Ham rivals are also said to be monitoring the situation around Cash, who has three years remaining on his contract at The City Ground.
Taking to Twitter to react to this news, plenty of Forest fans were keen to voice their opinion on the prospect of losing Cash, and that reported £12million asking price.
Here, we take a look at what some of them had to say.
If Nathan Ake’s worth £41 million, Cashy’s got to be worth at least £20 million

I would hope it would be a hell of a lot more than £12m.

Hope he doesn’t go, but if it turns into an “auction” £12mill will be the starting figure, not the final. Think 15 – 18 is minimum if Ake is worth 40 (which he isn’t).

Fair play to him, deserves to go to the prem.

Matty cash to Southampton for £12million are you pulling my trousers down? #nffc

We have no choice but to sell Cash, sadly. Just hope that figure of £12m is wrong, should be pushing for at least £15m with a monster sell percentage. At least he’d be going to a good home in Southampton 😭 #nffc

He’s no TAA, but £12m seems very low for someone who has 2.5 years left on a contract and is a stand out player in this league this season.
