Season league review

With the mighty reds leading the way I thought I would do a review of how other teams are performing in the league.

Yeovil in second place 7 points behind Forest are performing above expectations in my eyes after losing there top striker Phil Jevons in the summer. They still have a strong squad and are looking good to finish in the top 10. Scunthorpe are also performing above expectations in 3rd place but with Brian Laws leaving them for Sheffield Wednesday one thinks that performances might dip a bit if we see them in the top 6 by Christmas then they will be doing very well. Bristol City are the main favourites to be promoted so its no surprise that they are in 4th position also I thought Tranmere would do well this season and have proved to be no push overs. Finishing off the top 6 is Swansea, after a poor start they have picked up the points and got themselves into a good position.

In 7th place are Oldham which is no surprise there as I thought they would be around and about the play offs. After 7th place it is all very tight with Carlisle, Huddersfield, Gillingham and Brighton all on 24 points closely followed by Crewe and Port Vale on 23 points. Port Vale slipping down the league after a very good start to the season. Blackpool, Bradford and Northampton are all on 22 points in 14th 15th and 16th places. After that there is Doncaster in 17th on 20 points, I would say they are under performing after a very strong end to their season last year. In 18th place are Chesterfield who I would say are expected down there and might get a mid table finish. In 19th place are Rotherham, now who would have expected them to be doing so well after their 10 point deduction at the start of the season. They would be in 4th place if it wasn`t for the deduction and are a very strong team. You never know they could be surprise candidates for the play offs if they carry on performing well. Just outside the relegation zone are Brentford who could be expecting a tough season.

The bottom two teams were always expected to be down there at the end of the season and it isn`t looking good for them both. With Leyton Orient in bottom place and Cheltenham in 23rd. Millwall are the surprise team down there as many thought they would be at the top end of the table. They have a decent squad but if they don`t pick themselves up during the winter period then they could find themselves in trouble towards the end of the season. Making up the relegation zone is Bournemouth, I didn`t think they would be struggling like they are but they cant seem to get a result at the moment.
