It’s a quiet day on the news front, but there is one very brief mention of transfer speculation involving the Reds’ today.

According to the Daily Mail Nottingham Frest are interested in signing Dundee United duo Gary Mackay-Steven and Johnny Russell.

Both players are 22 years of age. Mackay-Steven is described as a midfielder/winger and spent two years as a Youth player with Liverpool before being released in 2009.

Johnny Russell has represented Scotland at U21 and U19 levels and has scored 21 goals in a little over 70 appearances for the Tannadice club.

  • Simon Jones of the Mail isn’t very good at his research. gary Mackay-Stevens is injured and won’t play again until late November at the earliest. 🙂

  • If there is any truth in it, then they’re more than likely January targets surely? If so, you’d think any injury issues would be cleared up by then.
