Nottingham Forest had their appeal against the red card Sammy Clingan picked up at the nightmare game against Oldham on New Years day rejected by the FA.

The Northern Irish Internation was dismissed for allegedly head butting skipper Will Haining in the 20th minute of the game at Boundary Park.

This means that Sammy must serve a three match ban starting with Saturdays F.A. cup third round encounter against Charlton.
