Comments made in the national press today suggest that Gary Megson and Leicester City, are to make a cheeky bid for Forest striker Nathan Tyson.

The Daily Mail claims that the Reds hit man is unsettled and is unhappy at being played out of position. It’s hard to say how true the rumour is, but it’s not too hard to see how the paper could put this together. After all, it was Megson who brought Tyson to the City Ground in the first place. Paying Wycombe Wanderers £650,000 back in November 2005.

Tyson is a City Ground favourite and has just recovered from a serious knee ligament injury. The paper says the deal would initially be a loan move with a view to a permanent deal in January. This would not go down well with supporters, even if supposed City target Matty Fryatt came in the opposite direction as a sweetener.

It’s not the first time Tyson has been the subject of transfer speculation and it certainly won’t be the last. Most of the summer was spent with papers linking him with a move to Birmingham. It’s something we’ll have to get used to I suppose. We just have to hope it doesn’t unsettle him unduly, as the club will be relying on him as the main goal threat. Another reason for the link with the Foxes could be the fact he scored against them last night in our now infamous 3-2 defeat.
