Paul Taylor of Nottinghamshire Live says Aro Muric’s loan deal could be completed ‘in a day or two’ now the Manchester City goalkeeper has returned from his holiday. Muric is expected to join Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan to compete with Costel Pantilimon, Luke Steele and Jordan Smith for playing time.

The 20-year-old played second fiddle to Ederson at Man City last season, but Claudio Bravo’s return from injury has thrown his future in doubt. City are reportedly keen to let Muric join another club on a temporary basis so long as he’s getting regular first-team football. This suggests that Pantilimon may be challenged for the No.1 spot in 2019/20.

Muric only made five appearances for the Sky Blues and one for NAC Breda (loan), so it’s imperative for City that his next move will see him feature on a regular basis. Whether Sabri Lamouchi is looking to dethrone Pantilimon remains to be seen, however, as he’s hardly looked at the goalkeeper due to his recent arrival.

It is worth noting that Forest have been linked with another shot-stopper in Abdoulaye Diallo, which could leave Lamouchi with five goalkeepers to choose from next season.
