According to Wayne Veysey of the Football Insider, Swansea City are interested in Jason Cummings and are ‘working on a deal’ to sign the Nottingham Forest striker before the summer transfer window shuts. The Swans recently lost Oli McBurnie to Sheffield United and have identified Cummings as his replacement.

The 23-year-old had interest from clubs in Scotland, but Football Insider believe he’s keen to stay in England. Forest won’t stand in the way of Cummings leaving. His contract at the City Ground is up in 2020, so the Reds have to cash in now rather than lose him for nothing next year. His market value is £675k and his stock couldn’t be lower.

The Scotland international has spent two in the east Midlands and only has 17 appearances and four goals to his name. His last competitive outing for the Reds was against Sunderland on December 30, 2017. Cummings’ last Forest goal was against Sheffield United on September 30, 2017 – more than two years ago.

He’s spent the last 18 months on loan at Rangers (January 15, 2018 – May 14, 2018), Peterbrough United (July 13, 2018 – January 30, 2019) and Luton Town (January 31, 2019 – May 31, 2019), scoring a total of eight goals in 37 league games. A move would suit all parties, but Swansea only have six more days to get a deal over the line.
