According to Paul Taylor of Nottinghamshire Live, Olympiacos are interested in Costel Pantilimon. Nottingham Forest recently signed Manchester City goalkeeper Arijanet Muric on a season-long loan, and it’s thrown Pantilimon’s future in doubt. The 32-year-old may not want to stay at the City Ground if he isn’t first-choice under Sabri Lamouchi next season.

Since joining Forest from Watford last summer, Pantilimon has made 44 appearances in all competitions, conceding 51 goals and keeping 15 clean sheets. His form was decent for the most part last season, but the Romanian international had the propensity to make errors. His distribution has also been an issue.

With Muric so highly-rated, Pantilimon’s spot could be up for grabs this summer, which may leave the £25k-per-week man with a decision to make. It’s hard to see him being content with a backup role in 2019/20, so Olympiacos stand a chance of capitalising on the situation if they lodge a formal bid.

The Greek Super League side have Jose Sa and Marios Siabanis to choose from in goal next season after releasing Lefteris Choutesiotis and Yuri Lodygin, but there may be a place for another experienced stopper as Siabanis is only 19.
