Report: Nottm Forest interested in out-of-favour Tottenham man, could make move in January

|

According to Sporting Life (h/t Nottinghamshire Live), Nottingham Forest are interested in Jack Clarke and could make a move for the out-of-favour winger in January. Clarke has struggled for playing time since re-joining Leeds on loan from Tottenham and is likely to cut his Elland Road return short as a result.

The 18-year-old has made just two appearances back at Leeds, both of which have come in the EFL Cup. Clarke wasn’t making the matchday squad at the start of the season and has been an unused substitute in the Championship since late-September.

Forest’s reported interest is somewhat of a surprise as Sabri Lamouchi isn’t short of options out wide. The Reds have Sammy Ameobi, Albert Adomah, Joe Lolley and Brennan Johnson, so why would they plump for an out-of-favour Clarke?

Do Nottingham Forest need another winger?

No

Lamouchi’s men are fifth in the Championship with 28 points from 15 games, having won their last two, but they do have a weakness in attack. Forest have scored only 20 goals and have been overly reliant on Lewis Grabban (7). Lolley (3), Adomah (2) and Ameobi (2) have only matched the 31-year-old’s tally.

Forest need more goals in the side, but Clarke (27 Leeds appearances, two goals, two assists) may not be the answer.
