According to Paul Taylor of Nottinghamshire Live, Nottingham Forest are interested in Harrison Reed and could make a move for the £12k-per-week Southampton midfielder if they fail in their bid to re-sign Jack Colback.

Reed rose through the youth ranks to the Southampton first-team in 2013 and has gone on to make 30 appearances in all competitions, but his future at St Mary’s is uncertain after falling down the pecking order.

The 24-year-old, who spent the last two seasons on loan at Norwich City (July 5, 2017 – May 31, 2018) and Blackburn Rovers (August 27, 2018 – May 31, 2019) hasn’t featured for Southampton since April 8, 2017 when he came off the bench against West Bromwich Albion.

Forest could have some success signing the former England u20 international this summer, but at least one existing player is expected to be moved on. Martin O’Neill still wants to sign Jack Colback, but the uncertainty over Newcastle’s ownership and management could delay talks.

Nottinghamshire Live say that signing Colback will be more complicated for Forest, so they’re keeping their options open in case they fail to secure a third loan deal in as many seasons.
