Joe Lolley has been linked with a move away from Nottingham Forest this summer, with Aston Villa being credited with an interest in the winger, but it appears he’ll be set to stay regardless of how much a club bids in the coming weeks.

According to an exclusive from Football League World, Forest have decided not to accept £15m for Lolley. The Reds have no intention to let the wide-man leave and will make plans for next season with the 26-year-old in the squad. It’s fantastic news for supporters and will greatly boost Forest’s playoff hopes.

Lolley was a standout performer in 2018/19, scoring and creating 22 goals in 46 games for Forest, and was named Player of the Season for his efforts. Villa had been linked with the Englishman throughout the campaign, but they’ll have to turn their attentions elsewhere.

Forest’s search for a winger might slow down now Lolley will be kept, with O’Neill having been linked with Kamil Grosicki of Hull City, Hosam Aiesh of Ostersunds and Gavin Whyte of Oxford United. The Reds do need to strengthen their attack, but Lolley’s goals no longer need to be replaced.
