Nottingham Forest right-back Matty Cash has admitted he had talks with his agent about a possible move to AC Milan in January, he told Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old has had a stunning season for the Reds during the current campaign, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 39 appearances.

Cash has been utilised in various positions during his Forest career but manager Sabri Lamouchi has found his best role in the right fullback.

The Telegraph previously reported that both West Ham and I Rossoneri have been monitoring the progress of the Englishman, who has been attracting them with his impressing displays this season.

Despite being a product of Forest’s youth setup, he told Sky Sports that he spoke to his agent about the Serie A side’s interest.

Will the club sell Cash if Forest don't go up?

No

“My agent had a few chats with me”, he said. “There were a few conversations but I had a job to do at the time and a few games to focus on. But I heard about it, yeah!”

If Cash continues to perform in the way that he has been, then there is no doubt that he will attract more interest from other clubs.

Having already made over 100 appearances for us, he has plenty of experience to kick on and become a high standard Premier League player. But this will be worrying news for the City Ground faithful, as he has become one of our most crucial players.

Let’s hope that these talks weren’t as serious than he was perhaps making out. But it will be interesting to see if the Italians come back in for him again in the summer.
