According to All Nigeria Soccer, Lateef Omidiji Jr will have a trial at Nottingham Forest when he comes to England next month. The 15-year-old has been called up to the Nigeria u17 side for their clash with Turkey in March and will have trials with a number of clubs when he leaves the camp in Abuja.
Football Wonderkids say Omidiji Jr will embark upon his two-month tour of England after international duty. The teen sensation plays for Go Head Eagles after joining from Feyenoord last summer. Omidiji Jr previously played for Dordrecht too.
If he does come to the City Ground, it’s likely he’ll feature in Gareth Holmes’ u18 side where he’ll have competition from the likes of Arvin Appiah. Nevertheless, the Nigerian is a talented player. He’s got a low centre of gravity and is close to being ambidextrous. He’s a good finisher and likes to run with the ball, so he should light up games for supporters.
Along with Forest, Omidiji Jr is expected to have trials at West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Manchester City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Reading. Arsenal are believed to be the frontrunners to procure his signature, however, with the Gunners being linked with the forward for over year.
