Well, it’s certainly an area that is going to need addressing in the summer.

Although I’m not sure if this is the calibre of player that we should be looking at, we need to be more ambitious in my mind.

According to a report from Football Insider, Nottingham Forest are one of the clubs showing an interest in Tranmere Rovers winger Corey Blackett-Taylor. The 22-year-old winger played 34 times for the League One side this season in all competitions, contributing 5 goals and 6 assists.

My only concern with this is the level at which he’s playing and the numbers he’s putting up. If he had been completely blowing away the competition, then I wouldn’t mind us taking a look at a League One player, just like I felt that the club would do well to pursue Ivan Toney.

Should the club be more ambitious when it comes to our transfer targets?

No

However with numbers like that, I just don’t think that it’s worth taking a look at him given the position the club are in fighting for promotion to the Premier League. If we were in the situation we were a few years ago, where we were near the bottom of the division then perhaps I’d be more inclined to go after him.

But with Sabri Lamouchi taking us to within touching distance of qualifying for the playoffs, our mentality is going to change, and as a result so is our transfer targets, and that means that we need to be looking up the table for Premier League players rather that down to League One.

What about you? What do you make of this news? Would you like to see us targeting him?
