Birmingham City are keen to sign Nottingham Forest winger Albert Adomah, a report from SportsworldGhana.com has claimed.

Former Forest boss Aitor Karanka was recently appointed as manager at St Andrews’, and it seems he is plotting a raid on his former club for a player he is already familiar with.

According to the latest reports, Karanka is interested in signing Adomah for his new club, having previously worked with the winger during his time in charge of another current Championship side, Middlesbrough.

It is thought that Birmingham will offer up to £1million to sign the 32-year-old, who has 12 months remaining on his current contract with Forest.

Having joined Forest last summer following his release from Aston Villa, Adomah made 27 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring three goals, before joining Cardiff on-loan in January.

Despite the extension of the season into July, Forest refused to let Adomah stay at Cardiff beyond his loan deal’s original expiry date at the end of June, a situation which the player himself expressed his disappointment over on social media.

As a result, it does seem as though this deal may suit all parties.

It doesn’t appear as though Adomah will be getting much game time at Forest next season, judging by their willingness to let him out on loan, while his own comments about that situation suggest he may not be entirely happy at The City Ground anymore.

A move elsewhere would therefore give Adomah more playing opportunities that he may desire, while also securing some useful funds for Forest, and also securing a parting of the ways that may avoid any tension being generated by the events of the past few months.
