Defender Matty Cash has intention of leaving Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window, a report from Nottinghamshire Live has claimed.

Cash’s future has been the subject of much speculation since the end of the season, with Sheffield United reportedly seeing a £10million bid for the right-back rejected, while the likes of Southampton and West Ham have also been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old.

Recent reports from Football Insider had claimed that Cash will now push for a move away from Forest in a bid to secure a move to the Premier League this summer.

However, the latest updates have suggested that that may not actually be the case, with Nottinghamshire Live now stating that Cash will not be pushing for an exit from The City Ground in the next few months.

Do you think Matty Cash will be at Forest next season?

Instead, the defender is reportedly keen to return to training next week, and see who the club are able to sign in the transfer market, before mounting another push for promotion to the Premier League in the upcoming campaign.

As things stand, there are still three years remaining on Cash’s contract with Forest, securing his future at The City Ground until the end of the 2022/23 season.

This really does seem to sum up the transfer window perfectly.

Almost as soon as you see a story claiming one thing, another seems to pop up from elsewhere saying the complete opposite.

As a result, it is hard to know just what it is going on with any particular transfer story, especially when there are so many different agendas encompassing every single transfer link.

One thing that is for certain however, is that Cash’s performances last season mean retaining his services for the coming campaign will be a huge boost, so there may be some who are at least taking some glimmer of hope from these latest reports.
