According to Gordon Waddell of the Daily Record, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers had a £3m bid rejected for Scott McKenna. Despite Sabri Lamouchi having Michael Dawson, Tobias Figueiredo, Joe Worrall, Michael Hefele, Alexander Milosevic, Yohan Benalouane and Jack Robinson at his disposal, the Aberdeen centre-back also appears to be on the Reds’ radar.

Aberdeen won’t accept less than their asking price for McKenna as they hold the defender in high regard. The 22-year-old’s potential arrival would surely see at least one existing Forest player being shown the exit door. Hefele could be on his way out and Benalouane has an uncertain future too.

Since rising through the youth ranks to the Aberdeen first-team in 2016, McKenna has gone on to make 80 appearances for the Dons, scoring and creating six goals. The 22-year-old has represented the Scotland national team and 12 occassions and is one of the best central defenders in the Scottish Premiership.

He’s been a regular at the Pittodrie Stadium, but his future is uncertain amid so much interest from the English Championship. Why Forest want to sign another defender with so many on the books is unknown, however, as little progress has been made trimming to the squad of unwanted centre-backs.
