Reports suggest that Forest are to offer the 35 year old a two year contract as player/coach.

Lennon was signed from Leicester City in 2000, by his former boss Martin O’Neill for £5.75M. In 2005 he was made captain of Celtic and on April 25 this year announced he was leaving the Bhoys’ after winning the Scottish League/Cup Double. The holding midfielder is said to have had plenty of offers, both North and South of the border, but is keen on a move back to the Midlands. Despite leaving Celtic, he still wants to stay in the game and is thought to fancy the idea of a role as player/coach.

Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland, but retired from international football in 2002, because of death threats before a game against Cyprus. He made 214 appearances for Celtic and scored 3 goals.
