Newly promoted Reading are said to be the latest club to make a bid for Forest defender Chris Gunter.

According to local press reports in Reading, the club have already tabled a £2m bid. The report also states that Forest have rejected the offer.

Forest paid Spurs £1.75m for the 22 year old Welsh international in 2009 and his contract runs until 2014.

He’s one of the few players in the current squad that we could command a decent fee for, so you would imagine chairman Frank Clark will be holding out for something in excess of £2.5m. Given that Norwich, Swansea and Fulham have all expressed a keen interest in the player, the Reds’ will now be hoping for a bidding war to get underway.
