Defender Kieron Freeman has emerged as a potential summer transfer target for Nottingham Forest, a report from The Daily Mail has claimed.
A graduate of Forest’s academy, Freeman’s first experience of the senior football came as a 19-year-old when he made two cup appearances for the club during the 2011/12 season.
The full-back than joined Derby in 2012, before moving to Sheffield United in 2015, helping them win promotion first from League One and then the Championship.
But having left the Blades at the end of the 2019/20, it seems a potential return to Forest is now on the cards for Freeman, with the latest reports claiming that the club are interested in signing the 28-year-old, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of another push for promotion next season.
There is however, competition for Freeman’s signature from elsewhere in the Championship, with both Swansea and Huddersfield also credited with an interest in the full-back.
The prospect of a return to the club for Freeman is one that plenty of Forest fans were keen to debate as they took to Twitter to react to the news of those links with the Welshman, and here, we take a look at what some of them had to say.
Why do we need another right back when we have Darikwa and Jenks, if Cash leaves? Waste of money, funds better spent strengthening elsewhere.

Why on earth are we looking in the basement when we should be aiming for top flight players. Will we ever learn that you don’t get out of this league with second rate journeymen.
