According to The Daily Mirror Forest midfielder Sammy Clingan is the target of new QPR manager Iain Dowie, with East Anglian rivals Norwich and Ipswich in the hunt for the Northern Ireland international as well.

Clingan has a contract offer from the Reds’ waiting for him to sign, but he’s yet to put pen to paper. His current contract expires this summer and it’s hoped that he will renew it. Sammy has been an integral part of the team since his arrival from Wolves in 2006 and would be viewed as a big loss if he moved.

It would appear that Clingan is in the box seat on this one, as Dowie will have been given a war chest to get promotion from the clubs’ multi millionaire owners. Forest will have to match any offer that the London club come up with.
