Over the weekend Nottingham Forest were being linked with a surprise move for current Queens Park Rangers fullback Angel Rangel.

The 35-year-old spent just over a decade with Swansea City, making over 300 appearances across all competitions for the Liberty Stadium outfit but following their relegation from the Premier League last season, he saw his contract expire and he made the switch to Loftus Road and seems to have quickly established himself as a fan favourite.

The Spaniard has more than played his part in their turnaround under Steve McClaren after a nightmare start to the 2018/19 campaign where they opened the Championship season with successive losses and he has 13 appearances to his name in their shirt.

He is only contracted up until January as he penned a short-term deal, but their fans definitely want to see him handed a new deal.

With Tendayi Darikwa impressing many given his performances, unless Karanka is looking to move others on in January I don’t see why at his age he’d swap regular games to become cover and take a place on the bench.

The MLS would surely be a better option if he was looking to move knowing a contract extension won’t be coming his way?
