New Forest manager Colin Calderwood will face Bradford City at home on August 5th on the opening day of his first season in charge of the Reds. The Bantams were Forest`s opponents in the last game of the 2005/06 season in a game that ultimately led to a failed bid to reach the playoffs, after a successful run of results under Ian Mcparland and Frank Barlow.

The tie against Bradford is followed by away games against Blackpool and an early return to Northampton for the new Reds manager, the club that he left to join Forest, on Saturday August 12th. Last season Calderwood guided Northampton to league 1 after 2 successive near failures, and he will not be the only person involved in the clash wanting to prove a point, not least ex Nottingham Forest man Chris Doig who was released by the Reds and had an excellent season in league 2 for the Cobbler`s.

Brighton, Crewe and Millwall were relegated from the Championship, and among them is bound to be some competition for the top places. Forest face Brighton on Saturday 19th August at home, and Saturday 17th February away, Crewe on 9th December away and also end the season at home to them on Saturday 5th May, and, Millwall on Saturday 25th November at home and Saturday 7th April away.

Over the Christmas and New year period, Forest face Port Vale at home on boxing day, Tranmere on the 30th and Oldham on New years day, Monday 1st January.

The last game of the season at home to Crewe could possibly be a clash between two of the top teams in the league, and therefore should be an exciting match.
