David Prutton looks to have played his last game for Nottingham Forest. The Southampton midfielder came back home during the January transfer window as a loan signing.

During his second spell, Prutton failed to find the form that made him a City Ground favourite. His final showing in a Red shirt was a bit of a nightmare to say the least. He was sent off in the disastrous playoff defeat against Yeovil, only minutes after being brought on as a second half substitute.

There is no denying his talents, maybe the setup at Forest last season did not suit his style of play. In his defence, he is more suited to a central midfield role, but was usually deployed out wide by Calderwood.

The arrivals of Cohen and Lennon would suggest there is no future for Prutton at Forest. Yesterday, Prutton played for Leeds in a pre season friendly against Irish side Shelbourne. Ironically he scored the second goal in a 2-0 win.
