Well, I think the writing is very much on the wall when it comes to this man’s career.
Or at the very least, his career at Nottingham Forest. I’m not telling him to hang up his boots just yet. I’m talking of course about Forest’s veteran midfielder Ben Watson.
The 34-year-old signed for us on a free transfer in February of 2018, and despite being in and out of the squad since his arrival, he’s found a whole new lease of life under Sabri Lamouchi, which has allowed him to complete 90 minutes in all bar three of our Championship games so far this season, and has even been trusted with the captain’s armband in the absence of Michael Dawson.
When it comes to next season though, it appears as though there aren’t a lot of Forest fans that are too enamoured with the idea of him sticking around, especially if we were to get promoted.
Perhaps it’s to do with his age, or there are just better options available, when @CityGroundHQ posed a question about his future, fans were quick to move him along and say that it’s time for a change.
No. Unfortunately not.

Unfortunately not. It depends who’s playing next to him what type of performance you get

No but useful from the bench

What about you? Do you think that Watson still has a role to play for us next season?
