After a week away, with very limited access to the internet or news about the Reds – I had typed this article (on Sunday) to summarise last week’s transfer news at Nottingham Forest.

With seemingly ruthless efficiency, Stuart Pearce and his coaching staff have assessed the current squad, the attitude of the players and sought to offload those deemed surplus to requirements.

Darius Henderson was the latest player to leave Nottingham Forest by mutual consent but unlike Rafik Djebbour who is still seeking a suitable suitor, Hendo had already lined up a new club and swiftly signed on the dotted line for Leyton Orient.

Djamel Abdoun is still seeking to find another club, having been told he does not feature in Pearce’s plans, but at this stage no further updates have been given.

Radi Majewski, the Polish midfielder with doubtless talent and possessing the ability to find that killer pass, clearly failed to impress.

Radi signed a 3.5 year deal to stay at Forest on 1st February 2013, so he would prove expensive for anyone looking to purchase. A season long loan at Huddersfield seems to spell the end of his Forest career, but stranger things have happened.

Chris Burke, a long time target for Forest arrived as Radi departed. The 30 year old winger’s contract at Birmingham had expired – so, he joined on a 2 year deal as a free agent.

Former Reds striker, Jack Lester, also returned to Forest as a coach for the under 18’s.

So, all in all a positive week for Forest in the transfer market!
