With the summer transfer window upon us, the news is filtering through that the club have moved a huge step closer to bringing two new players to the club.

According to the local media source, the Nottingham Post, the deals to bring the Portuguese duo of Diogo Goncalves and Joao Carvalho to the club could be wrapped up next week.

Carvalho, a 21-year-old midfielder, is, according to our source, said to be joining on a permanent deal with a fee of £13 million changing hands, a club record fee, whereas, Goncalves, a 21-year-old forward, is said to be coming to the club on a season-long deal.

Apparently, our source is implying that the duo will arrive in Nottingham next week, to undergo medicals, before completing the relevant paperwork to complete the deals.

With the new season fast approaching, here at Vital Forest we’re delighted to see the club making positive inroads in the transfer market that fill us with hope that the 2018 / 2019 season could finally be the campaign that sees us escape the clutches of the Championship and regain our place in the top-flight of English football.
