We’ve been utterly relentless in the transfer window so far, and former Newcastle United winger, Yasin Ben El-Mhanni is the latest name to be linked with a move to the City Ground. The 22-year-old has caught the eye on social media, and he has been released by the Magpies, should we make our move?

According to Nottinghamshire Live, Nottingham Forest are one of several teams interested in the services of the promising winger following the expiration of his contract at Newcastle.

Despite making only two senior appearances for Newcastle, both of which came in the FA Cup, the Englishman is regarded for his supreme technical ability and his versatility. El-Mhanni can operate on either flank, as an attacking midfielder, or as a false nine. Indeed, such versatility could be extremely beneficial for us as we look to attain promotion to the Premier League.

That said, having already secured the signings of Diogo Gonçalves, Joao Carvalho, and Gil Dias, the arrival of another winger, seems relatively redundant unless Mhanni is willing to play a bit-part role for us this campaign.

To his credit, Karanka has significantly enhanced the quality of our attack, and personally, I don’t feel that the addition of another forward is a priority at present.

What are your thoughts? Should Forest sign the talented winger? Let us know by voting in the poll!
