Cheltenham Town will welcome Forest to Whaddon Road on Saturday for the first ever meeting between the two sides. The Robins are relative newcomers to the Football League, after gaining admission in 1999. So there is only the current League form to go on as a form guide with no history between the sides. After gaining promotion last season through the playoffs and getting off to a decent start, the Robins’ have lost eight of their last nine games and sit in 22nd position in League 1.

The Reds’ look to have put their Scunthorpe nightmare behind them with victories over Gillingham and Bristol City. Forest are sitting pretty, 5 points clear at the top and will try to stretch their lead over second placed Yeovil. Forest will have to guard against complacency in what will be seen as a formality on paper.

Vital Quotes:

Cheltenham Town Team News:

The Robins’ could be without regular keeper, Shane Higgs. Steven Gillespie and Jamie Victory will also miss out due to injury.

Player to watch: Steve Guinan

Steve Guinan is a former Red who failed to make it with us. He will be out to put one over his old side to prove them wrong in letting him go. Grant McCann is the clubs highest scorer and is a Northern Ireland international.

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Forest are expected to name an unchanged side for the game.

Player to watch: Sammy Clingan

The midfielder is hopefully beginning to rediscover the form that made him an integral part of the team last year. Not having enjoyed the best of starts to this campaign, he has been much improved in recent weeks.
