Manager Mark Warburton has confirmed that Spanish defender Dani Pinillos will be released by Nottingham Forest this summer.

The 24 year old left back came to the City Ground back in July 2015 from Cordoba and he’s made 35 appearances since and is soon to be out of contract.

Warburton told the Nottingham Post that his contract would not be renewed.

‘Dani Pinillos will be leaving the club, he will not be staying with us. It is my decision, it is about doing what I think is right. During my time in the hotseat, he has been nothing but professional. He scored against Derby and it was his delivery for the first goal – and we thank him for all his efforts. That was one of those moments – but it is also the nature of the game. He played his part and he is a good player. He is a professional and he will do well moving forward.’

‘We are thankful for his service, he has been a very good pro. He will have a good career, but it was not right for Dani to be here. We have made a decision and we wish him all the very best for the future. It is one of several areas we might look at.’

He leaves having scored once for the side, against Derby County, but his spell was heavily interrupted with his knee injury.
